As the founders Maria and Stefan Doerr some years ago fell in love with the island of the „gods and demons”, it was first only a vague idea and a distant dream. This jelled more and more during the next frequent visits and the idea to build a residential resort and seminar resort in this tropical paradise was born.

For the plan the still original north was selected with its warm, but not so humid climate with an all-year temperature between 26 and 30 degrees Celsius. Lying embedded in green mountain ranges, but directly by the sea and in the midst of a palm grove, originates a Resort which spares the natural resources and respects nature, which is built as much as possible ecologically and poor in pollutant which emits harmony and well-being, supporting the own needs of the people as well as allowing regeneration and relaxation. For that we stand with our own high claim and a strong team of architects (German and Balinese), construction biologists and Feng Shui advisers.

The concept of yin and yang is highly valued in Bali. We would like to adhere to this principle, the balancing out of giving and taking and thank the Balinese for their hospitality. So we have involved a Balinese project manager and after the opening of the resort, we would like to closely involve the locals, e.g. through the creation of jobs (in positions of responsibility too), which will feed many families. The staff will be given social security and health insurance, which is not usual in Indonesia. We would also like to participate in or start up projects in the village, whether in the environment or health sectors or for the local schools, thus creating more cooperation between east and west.

The German founders

Maria and Stefan Dörr have been a team privately for 25 years and for 8 years professionally too.

Stefan Dörr is a business management graduate with many years of experience in business, 10 of which as a partner at PriceWaterhouseCoopers (an international management consultancy). He has been working since 2002 as a construction biologist, kinesiologist and psychological consultant in his own company, Lebens(t)raumkonzepte with his wife Maria. As managing director, he is responsible for all business matters in the planning, implementation and operations for the Holiway Garden Resort & SPA.

As a Feng Shui advisor, Maria Dörr manages the planning and creative aspects of construction with the team of architects. She is working to ensure that you will feel at ease everywhere in the resort and that external conditions are taken into consideration.

Due to many years working and living abroad together with their children, the couple has gained valuable experiences and knows what it is like to live as a guest in a foreign country.

The whole team is whole-heartedly dedicated to the project and will use all of their professional and personal skills to make the project a success.
